Everything is Beautiful

 

A 50-foot long street-facing window installation for the Urban Institute for Contemporary Art (UICA) in Grand Rapids, MI 

2006-2007

 

Situated on the membrane between the interior art (institutional) space and exterior public space, Everything is Beautiful asks that pedestrians and art lovers alike see themselves through each other. The visually translucent blue letters spelling out, “All Matter is Smart & Everything is Beautiful”, and host windows contain and reflect the pedestrian in the installation that is both critical and optimistic in its implication of all things on both sides of the glass.
