New Money
Part of a series of works that use historically noted tools of rebellion as foils to look at affect in relation to resistance, property, space, waste, attention, and currency. “New Money” remembers the coins thrown at police during the Stonewall Rebellion and features non-currency coins in high-speed polishing and collection sequences. Through the use of layered sound and visuals, the value of labor and money seems suspicious. Befitting the persistent allure and consequence of money, the piece is designed to be loopable.
