Transmissions 

 

“Transmissions” elaborates on the spaces between communication and intent, individual and collective expression.

 

The series explores diverse broadcast technology, both cable-bound and wireless, in its relationship to intimate expression. The project is self-conscious about its location, folding into consideration knowledge of its platform on a public communication board. Images of satellite dishes accompany the upside down ‘I want to love you’ text, suggesting that the electronic signal looping between broadcast and reception modes contains a curious affectionate passenger, one that is both ominous and optimistic.
